Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. When are you going to join the 21st century and put some video clips on your site ?

  • A. We have that now at: The Video Page.

  • Q. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not wearing a helmet every time you ride a bicycle. Don't you realize you are setting a bad example for young children. They watch TV and see people without helmets and think it is OK. Well, it isn't. Why can't you be a better role model for youth ?

  • A. We do wear helmets, but not every single time we ride. It depends upon the situation. Maybe kids are smarter than you think and recognize that skateboarding, snowboarding and driving while intoxicated have higher rates of injuries than riding bicycles. We don't even get air. Check this out. Thanks for writing.

  • Q. Why don't you smile more in the video and why don't you get a better microphone so we don't hear the wind noise and why don't you hire me as your special effects and stunt coordinator for some radical cliff jumping ?

  • A. Why don't you jump off a cliff with a better microphone so we can hear you crash and don't forget to smile on the way down.

  • Q. Are you going to offer your programs on VHS ?

  • A No. We like DVD better because you don't have to rewind.

  • Q. Where do you live when you go on those trips?

  • A We either stay at a friends house or at a motel. Where do you stay when you travel?

  • Q. When are you ever going to get past the 13 colonies and go out west where the deserts are dry, the mountains are high and the air is clear ?

  • A Disk #8 might possibly trace the epic adventures of Coronado. We have ridden through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma, but we have not developed the full story just yet. Our disk 1 has a short segment near Zion. We rode out to Red Rocks near Vegas and are trying to get in some California cruisin'. There is just too much history and we try not to get people confused. We'll get there eventually. How clear is the air in L.A. ?

  • Q. What do you eat when you go on those trips ?

  • A Food. What have you been eating ?

  • Q. When I get my Litespeed Tuscany touring frame fitted with carbon fiber wheels and Campi components, do you think I should get center-pull brakes ?

  • A Who needs brakes ? - If you wear a helmet, of course.

  • Q. Why don't they have your DVDs at the video rental place ?

  • A We have no answer. We hope they will carry them. Maybe we need more credibility or people like you to ask for them. Maybe your library would get some and let you borrow them for free. What a concept ? Thanks for asking.

  • Q. So if the series is not on the shelves: I should ask for it ?

  • A Yes.

Bicycling Through History is fun. Ask for it.
